Around the Park in 80 Days is an exploration of Clissold Park through the eyes of a writer and regular visitor to the park. It’s an accumulative multi-media essay about time spent in the park jogging, hanging out in the cafe, sitting on benches by the ponds, writing. And then more jogging, more writing and contemplation.

The essay includes memories of the park, a growing-collection of vintage postcards of Clissold Park, short video clips of running, a specially commissioned map of the park, photographs, and some thoughts about parks around the world, but always returning to the reassuring presence and inspiration of Clissold Park.

I have lived in London since the mid-1990s. The first ten years in Stoke Newington – on that side of the Park – and now in Highbury, on this side of the Park.

The project is ongoing, but the main bit of it was created over the 80 Days between August 1st and October 20th, 2012.
